VAN TRACKING

Van tracking, with or
without the tracker.

Live van tracking for UK fleets from £6 a van a month — no long contract, no fitting day. Newer vans connect with no hardware at all; the driver app and self-install trackers cover everything else.

WHAT YOU GET

Everything a van fleet actually uses.

Whether a van reports in through its built-in connectivity, the driver's phone or a plug-in tracker, it gets the same platform.

Live location & history

Every van on one map, with full journey replay when you need to check back.

Trips & mileage

Automatic trip logs and mileage per van and driver — HMRC-friendly records, no paper.

Geofences & alerts

Sites, depots and no-go zones. Get pinged on arrival, departure or out-of-hours movement.

Driver behaviour

Speeding, harsh braking and idling, scored per driver so you can coach, not guess.

MOT & service reminders

Due dates and defect checks tracked against real mileage, not a wall calendar.

Fuel & running costs

Spot the idlers and the thirsty vans, and see cost per mile across the fleet.

THREE WAYS TO TRACK A VAN

Start with the vans you have.

Most fleets are a mix of ages — so FleetOS is too. One per-vehicle price, whichever way each van gets onto the map.

No hardware

Built-in connectivity

Newer vans and cars stream position, odometer and fuel straight from the manufacturer.

  • Nothing to fit — activated remotely
  • Position, mileage & fuel from the maker
  • Covers most major van brands, ~2019 on
  • Every vehicle eligibility-checked by VIN

Needs the manufacturer's connected services on the vehicle. HGVs use a tracker instead.

Driver app

The FleetOS driver app turns any phone into a tracker: clock in, drive, clock out.

  • Works on any iPhone or Android
  • Routes, distance and time on site
  • Break button genuinely pauses tracking
  • Drivers see exactly when they're tracked

Privacy by design — during a break our servers refuse location data rather than store it.

FleetOS trackers

For everything else — older vans, trailers, plant and HGVs — a tracker you fit yourself in minutes.

  • Battery, wired and OBD options
  • Up to 10-year battery for assets
  • Ships pre-configured — live in minutes
  • Tamper, movement & power alerts

£60 one-off per tracker, or spread it monthly. No fitter required (pro fitting optional).

BUILT-IN COVERAGE

Which vans connect with no hardware?

Roughly speaking: most major van brands' models from 2019 onwards, where the manufacturer's connected services are available and activated. The usual suspects:

Ford
Transit family — most models from around 2019
Mercedes-Benz
Sprinter, Vito & Citan — 2018 onwards
Volkswagen
Crafter, Caddy & Transporter 6.1 — 2021 onwards
Citroën · Peugeot · Vauxhall · Fiat
Berlingo, Dispatch, Relay, Combo, Vivaro, Movano, Ducato & Doblò — 2020–21 onwards
Renault
Kangoo, Trafic & Master — late 2021 onwards
Toyota
Proace — support rolling out

Exact coverage depends on model year, trim and whether connected services are active — which is why we check every van by VIN before you commit, free. Vans that don't qualify use the driver app or a tracker; HGVs always use a tracker.

£6 a van, a month. Monthly rolling.

Trackers are a £60 one-off only where a van needs one — or spread it monthly. No quotes, no sales calls.

VAN TRACKING FAQ

Asked by every fleet we talk to.

How does van tracking work without fitting a tracker?
Most major van brands' newer models ship with the manufacturer's own connectivity. With your consent as the operator, FleetOS activates it remotely and the van streams position, odometer and fuel straight from the maker — no hardware, no fitting. We check every van by VIN first, so you know exactly what connects before you pay.
Will it work on my older vans?
Yes. Older vans are covered two ways: drivers clock in with the FleetOS app and their phone does the tracking, or you fit a self-install FleetOS tracker (battery, OBD plug-in or wired) — £60 one-off, shipped pre-configured, fitted in minutes.
How much does van tracking cost?
£6 per van per month, monthly rolling, whichever way the van is tracked. Vans that need a tracker add a £60 one-off for the unit (or spread it over 24 months), and professional fitting is an optional £49. There's no minimum term and no minimum fleet size.
Do I need to tell my drivers?
Yes — UK data-protection law requires you to be open with staff about vehicle tracking. FleetOS is built for that: tracking on the driver app runs only between clock-in and clock-out, drivers can see when they're tracked, and the break button genuinely stops tracking — our servers refuse location data during a break.
Can you track HGVs and trailers too?
Yes, with hardware: built-in connectivity doesn't cover HGVs, so trucks take a wired or battery tracker, and trailers or plant suit a battery tracker with up to 10 years' life. Everything lands on the same live map as your vans.
How quickly can we be live?
Eligible vans can be live the same day — the VIN check takes moments and activation is remote. Drivers on the app are live as soon as they clock in. Trackers ship pre-configured in 2–3 days and are on the map minutes after you fit them.
